Solid Color Full-Screen Display
When you click a solid color button, the tool displays a full-screen element with the selected color as its CSS background. In fullscreen mode, this covers the entire display. Gradient Ramp and Color Banding Detection
The RGB gradient patterns display a smooth linear gradient from black to pure red, green, or blue. On a display with sufficient color depth (8-bit or higher), the gradient should appear as a smooth transition. If you see visible bands or steps in the gradient, your display has color banding — a sign of low color depth (6-bit panel), incorrect OS color settings (16-bit instead of 32-bit), or a low-quality display cable.
Grayscale Ramp and Color Tint
The 16-step grayscale ramp displays equal red, green, and blue values from 0 (black) to 255 (white). On a properly calibrated display, all steps should appear as neutral gray without any color tint. If the dark steps show a blue tint or the light steps show a pink tint, your monitor has an incorrect color temperature setting. SMPTE Color Bars
The SMPTE color bar pattern is the industry standard for video color calibration. The top section displays seven colors at 75% saturation: white, yellow, cyan, green, magenta, red, and blue. The middle section shows reverse-color bars for checking color decoding. Limitations
